** Computer tips of the week ======================== COMPUTER TIPS OF THE WEEK TIP #1 END TASK TO RECOVER FROM LOCK-UP If your system locks up, there is one thing that you can try before you reboot your system. You can try to end the current task. You can try to close the program that is causing the problem, and continue on. When you lockup, press Ctrl-Alt-Del to open the Close Program window. Select by clicking on the program that is causing the problem (it will probably say "(Not Responding)" next to it), and click the End Task button. After a few seconds, an End Task window will appear, explaining that the program is not responding. Click End Task again, and most of the time Windows will exit just that program. (Note: If pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del does not work, you will have to reboot your system.) TIP #2 VIEW CONTENTS OF PARENT FOLDER If you're viewing a folder's contents and want to view the contents of the parent folder (the folder that contains the folder you're currently viewing), all you have to do is press the Backspace key on your keyboard. ======================== COOL SITE OF THE WEEK OneAcross.com Having trouble getting the last word in that puzzle?
