Extend the life of your computer by keeping it clean.
Supplies Needed:
- Shop vac that blows air, an air compressor, or a can of compressed air (available at most office supply stores)
- Cleaner (Formula 409 or Fantastic
- Clean rag
- Q-tips
Cleaning your computer
- Turn computer off and remove case.
- Blow air into the back vent of the power supply and watch the dust fly.
- Blow air into the power supply from inside the case and watch the dust still fly.
- Blow air lightly into the case especially around the CPU fan.
- Blow air into the floppy, CD, zip, and tape drives
Note:
- Always use short busts of air.
- When using a compressor stand back as to not put too much air pressure on components. The idea is to blow out dust not fill a car tire.
